I wanted to show something that could be seen in multiple ways, depending on the viewer and how they see themselves in relation to the image. I liked the idea of approaching the image with ambiguity. To reflect the meaning of the poem, without wanting to use any visuals actually mentioned in the piece, I settled on the idea of drawing an old writing desk.
